Project Description:

The seven-storey apartment building in Kallithea, Athens is a model of modern design, which combines aesthetics with functionality. Its design was based both on the particularities of the plot, with its shape determining the organization of the interior and exterior spaces, as well as on the functional layout of the apartments in terms of plan and view. As for the floor plan level, each floor hosts a specific number of apartments, structured in such a way as to ensure privacy, comfort and optimal exploitation of natural lighting and ventilation. At for the facades, the main axis of the design was the projection of the floor plan to the facade, so that the functions and properties of the building become distinct.

In the selection of materials, the main desire was to use a small number of materials to differentiate the open from the closed, to emphasize the functional elements of the apartment building and to separate its particular architectural elements.
In this direction, the alternation of visible concrete with plaster in off-white shades was chosen, as well as the use of metal elements in different ways and shades depending on the use.

The architectural study was carried out in collaboration with the Architect Despina Sotiriou.
